Antigen Enrichment to drive more hits

January 13, 2025

Late last year, we had the pleasure of sponsoring at Antibody Engineering & Therapeutics in sunny San Diego, where we shared our research on antigen enrichment to boost success in antibody discovery. We've been getting more hits with our FACS antigen workflow than with magnetic cell isolation kits in every campaign we've tried!

Our Chief Operating Officer, Allison Schulkins, delivered a presentation detailing the research on the FACS antigen workflow, accompanied by a poster on the same subject. Our findings indicate that a significant proportion of CD138+ cells also exhibit surface IgG expression. Through functional studies, it was confirmed that these dual-positive cells are active in secreting IgG and can be effectively enriched using our FACS-based antigen sorting methodology.

When this cell isolation workflow is applied to therapeutic targets in the AbTheneum discovery process, it consistently enhances the hit rate and increases antibody diversity while still (as always) integrating dynamic screening data and delivering rapid results.
